5 Spring 2015 Beauty Trends You Need To Try Now

By Kristen Peuvion on January 31, 2015

It might only be January, but sooner than you know it, it will be spring. And since spring is so close, obviously the fashion world has already sent its ideas of what is going to be popular this spring down the runways at Fashion Week.

Because the fashion world lets us know so early what is going to be popular in the months to come, it makes it super easy for us to try things out ahead of time.

The runway isn’t only about clothes though. What we see walking down the runway is about the entire look, from the color of a model’s toenails all the way to what hair accessory she is wearing.

In other words, the beauty aspect is just as important as the garment itself. So let’s move away from the clothes for a second and focus on the spring 2015 beauty trends you can start trying out now.

Messy, Unkempt ‘Do’s

Lazy girls, rejoice! This spring 2015 beauty trend is sure to make you happy because it requires probably only five minutes of effort, if that. Basically, all this look entails is making your hair look messy in any style you want.

If you want to go curly messy, just rock your slept in curls the morning after a night out. Or if you want a messy braid, just sleep in it the night before. Another idea is to tease your hair and pull it half up and leave the rest down. It will give you a super chic, sexy bedhead look with minimal effort.

What makes this trend great to try in the winter is that most people’s hair can get really damaged in the winter due to the cold, dry air and other inclement elements.

This trend basically requires that you don’t wash your hair in order to pull it off, so you’ll be giving your dry, staticky, fly away prone hair a break from all the washing, drying and styling that it’s used to.

New Take On Nude Nails

We all know that a set of nails with chipped nail polish all over isn’t a clean, sophisticated or attractive look. Half of your nail might be chipped neon pink polish while the rest of it is your nude nail peeking through, which screams sloppy.

Or does it?

During the fashion shows at Fashion Week around the world, we saw a sophisticated, polished take on showing some of your nude, polish-free finger. As you can imagine, though, the nude we saw on the runway is a lot classier than the chipped look you rock a week after your manicure appointment.

Designers played with this idea in many different ways, but all of them had the same idea. Many painted geometrical shapes or designs on the nail and left the rest nude.

At the Delpozo show, models sported little half-moons of polish on the bottoms of their fingers and the rest was a polish-free nude. Charlotte Ronson had the same idea, but switched the color and the nude.

An easy way to try this look at home is by simply painting a colored line across your finger. This doesn’t take much skill, so you can rock this look very easily!

Braids, Again

Braids have been popular for a while now, and it seems their popularity is only growing after Fashion Week. Many designers sent braided looks down the runway such as Donna Karan and Marissa Webb.

The nice thing about braids is that you can make them as elegant or simple as you want, so they’re a really versatile hairstyle that can work for class or a night out. Plus, they work great on hair that hasn’t been washed so you can cut down on the damage of a daily wash.

Dark, Liquid Eyeliner

It might sound strange that a super harsh, dark eye is popular for a season known for pastels, but that makes it the perfect spring 2015 beauty trend to try now.

The winter months are known for being duller and darker than other months, so start perfecting the dark, liquid liner look now. Once you’ve got it down, you’ll have no problem rocking it in the warmer months.

Feel free to play with how thick or thin you want the line to be, or the type of line you want as well. You could go for a cat eye if you’re feeling fun and playful, or try a bold, uber thick line on your upper lashes for a bold look that will have all of your girlfriends green with envy.

Au Natural Texture

This is another spring 2015 trend you’ll want to try ASAP. In lieu of the perfectly coiffed and styled hairstyles we’ve seen on the runway of Fashion Weeks past, the overlying trend of designers’ spring looks was more relaxed and un-styled.

The air dried look fell into this category of low-maintenance ‘do’s. Models at Hugo Boss, Narciso Rodriguez and Tory Burch rocked looks that were au natural. So ditch your hair dryer and opt for the air dried look that all the models were rocking at Fashion Week.

Sometimes the clothes really overpower the runway and we forget to look closely at the hair, nails and makeup we see, but spring 2015 definitely caught our attention with its fun, easy and stylish beauty trends.

Just because it isn’t spring yet doesn’t mean you should wait to try out some of these spring 2015 beauty trends.
