The Hottest Nail Colors For Spring 2015

By Kristen Peuvion on March 23, 2015

Everything in the fashion world goes out of style eventually. There is a constant ebb and flow when it comes to what’s hot and what’s not, including nail polish.

Who knew that something so small could be so meaningful to the fashion and beauty industries that it has its own style timeline? Just like any skirt, shirt, or dress trend changes every season, hot nail polish colors change every season, too.

With every season comes a new set of nail polish colors that are sure to dominate the runways, fashion editorials and eventually the rest of the world. Spring 2015 is no different and has its very own set of colors that you’ll want to wear as soon as possible.

These nail polishes are updated twists put on classic reds, pinks and nudes as well as some fresh pops of color like yellow and blue. Once you see all of these fun, exciting colors, you’ll have a hard time choosing which one to wear first.

Mustard Yellow

Yellow was huge on the runway for the spring 2015 season when it came to clothing. It seems that this trend really took off because it has now transitioned to nail color.

Sometimes yellow can be a little harsh on certain skin tones, but not mustard yellow, which is why this is such a great color to try this spring. Whether you’re an uber tan goddess or a pale ethereal angel, mustard yellow is flattering on just about any skin tone under the sun.

Any Shade of Blue

After doing some research on spring 2015’s popular nail polish colors, there was an overwhelming blue trend emerging. From navy to metallic to powder, any and all blues were seen all over the runways.

If you want something that truly screams spring, opt for a lighter shade like powder blue. There’s something about light, bright colors on your nails that just makes sense for the warmer months, so rocking a baby blue shade on your hands and toes is a great idea.

On the other hand, if your style is trying something unexpected, metallic navy is the color for you! Typically, we associate darker colors with the colder months of winter and metallic colors are in a similar boat.

However, this spring try breaking that rule and wear this beautiful, dark shade all season long. Tom Ford’s Nail Lacquer in Indigo Night will do the trick!

Lilac

Another color we automatically associate with the spring is lilac. Pastels in general usually get worn in the spring, plus lilac is a common color seen in the flowers that start blooming in the springtime.

Take a page from the flower’s book and rock this color on your fingers and toes this spring! Some pretty shades to try include Formula X Sheer Strength Nail Color in Fierce or Lauren B Beauty “Pacific Palisades” nail polish.

Bright, Pale Orange

Orange is a color that immediately pops into your mind when you think of spring. It is bright and fun and it is one of those warmer colors that just reminds us of the springtime.

For spring 2015, the classic carrot orange that we’re used to has gotten a bit of an update. Instead of the somewhat harsh, bright orange, the color has been updated this spring to be more subtle, but still bright. Think of a pale, bright orange you would see in a sunset instead of the orange you might see in a clementine.

Deborah Lippmann’s Lara’s Theme or O.P.I.’s Hawaii Collection Nail Lacquer in Is Mai Tai Crooked? are just what you need!

Boysenberry

Lilac isn’t the only purple making a statement this spring. If you’re looking for a purple that’s more statement and less pastel, boysenberry is the color for you!

This shade is a mix between fuchsia and violet which makes for a beautiful spring alternative to a classic red polish. It is a shade that is reminiscent of floral blooms we see in the spring, so why not wear it on your nails?

Chanel’s Le Vernis in Desirio is the ultimate boysenberry shade.

So ditch the classic colors you’re used to wearing 24/7 and update your spring nail polish collection. Any of these fun and fabulous colors are just what you need for a fresh manicure or pedicure this season!
