Reasons to Look Forward to Fall Semester at FSU

By Brooke Tideman on June 28, 2016

Most people do not look forward to going back to school for fall semester. They are not dying to get back to school and start classes. Most people dread that classes are about to start, and they completely forget all of the amazing things that start up in the fall. These people, the ones who never want their summer to end, do not go to Florida State University; because if they did – they would be excited about going back to campus.

Football

We all know what the start of Fall semester means here at FSU; it means we get to go to Doak Campbell Stadium and watch our boys scalp whoever we are playing that week. The best part of our Fall semester is sitting in that stadium and being a part of the roar that everyone hears around Tallahassee, the roar that everyone who watches our games on the television hears. That roar is not just the sound of all of the Seminoles fans chanting our fight song or the sound of us cheering our boys on to victory; it is the sound of our hearts beating in unison as FSU Seminoles. Fall semester football means tailgates and covering ourselves in garnet and gold, whether it is clothing or paint – we will do what we must to support our team. Just check out the Garnet and Gold guys to see how far our love for the Seminoles goes!

Homecoming

Fall semester is not only about football games and classes, we also have homecoming to look forward to. After all, our homecoming events are always extremely fun! There are so many great things to do during homecoming week from the homecoming parade to tailgating to chief and princess elections. However, the most anticipated events are Pow Wow, Warchant, and of course the homecoming game! We may not know who is going to be at Pow Wow or Warchant just yet, but we know whoever it is will be amazing! So get pumped for FSU Homecoming 2016 which will be Sunday, October 9 – Saturday, October 15!

FSU Flying High Circus

One of the final most impressive things that we look forward to during fall semester is the Halloween/Haunted Harvest performances done by the FSU Flying High Circus. The students put on a spooky, yet family friendly performance showcasing their talents such as flying trapeze, juggling, and quartet adagio! Shows under the Big Top are truly worthwhile and definitely one of a kind, so make sure you look out for this fall’s schedule of performances and go support the FSU Flying High Circus!

From classes to comedians to skeletons on the trapeze, here at FSU we have a lot to look forward to during fall semester! Summer may be fun and amazing, but so is fall semester with all of the events that FSU plans for us each year.
