8 Travel Tips For Students
Summer is almost here! And what better way to spend your break than going on a road trip with friends or travelling the globe? Here are some travel tips that might help you out on your trip.
1. Hostels. They’re cheap and you get to meet quite a few interesting people! Just make sure to not do this alone and to bring your own sheets.
2. Use your student ID for discounts. Lots of places have discounts for students, and lots of us forget about that. Be sure to ask about student discounts wherever you go!
3. Make your own first aid and sewing kit. And don’t forget the duct tape! Duct tape saves lives, just like a first aid kit. You can make your own one for cheap by just buying band aids, disinfectant and bringing some pain relievers or anything else you might need. And a sewing kit definitely comes handy.
4. Use banks to exchange currency! If you’re across the seas, don’t go to the airport exchange, but go to the nearest bank. You won’t have to pay those nasty extra fees!
5. Keep money in several places. If you’re traveling in another country, take out a bigger sum of money and then divide it into a few piles. Keep one on you, one at your hotel and one in your bags. That way, if your wallet gets stolen or you run out of change and there’s no bank or ATM nearby, you’ve got some backup.
6. Ask locals about places to visit. Oftentimes, the coolest, most secret places to explore aren’t online and only locals know about them. By going to these types of attractions and destinations, you’ll get a real feel for the place you’re visiting!
7. Take your own toiletries. This way you don’t have to stress about finding them or pay extra for them.
8. Have fun and be safe. Most of all, let others know where you’re headed and keep them updated. Have fun while you’re exploring on your summer adventures!
