Your Essential Spring Break Checklist

By Hannah Butler on March 12, 2013

Frigid and gloomy winter is coming to an end while bright and sunny spring is coming around the corner! Some of you will be traveling to different tropic destinations to make the most of the most popular week of all: Spring Break. It’s easy to forget the basics when excitedly packing for a trip, so listed are the must-haves for a fun and safe spring break no matter where you go!

Checklist Item #1: SWIMSUIT

You have been working on that bod for weeks, now show it off! The proper bathing suit is most essential for making that statement walking on the beach. The colors for the spring season are bright greens, spunky oranges, vibrant reds, light blues and soft purples. One bathing suit will definitely do, but if you plan on only wearing bathing suits, get more! Whether it’s to take a dip in the water or tan your heart away, the perfect bathing suit is important for making spring break complete. Everything But Water offers a wide variety of colors and styles!

Checklist Item #2: CLOTHES

Although there will always be those people that live in their swimsuits the whole week, it is also smart to bring an array of shorts, dresses, tanks and skirts. As far as I’m concerned, bringing clothes that accent your bathing suit is the way to go. For guys, it will be easy because all that is needed is a matching shirt or tank. For girls, we have an option of dresses, skirts and shorts. This is the time of year to ditch the heavy clothes and get used to wearing the light and loose fabrics. Bold and bright colors along with funky prints will catch many eyes under the sun!  College Fashion has great ideas for girls.

Checklist Item # 3: SUNGLASSES

After being at college for almost two years, I can count six knock-off Ray-Ban sunglasses in my dresser drawer. Especially since I’m part of the Greek system, it allows me to gain an abundance of frat star apparel. Though they are cheap, the price’s perfect for the moments they get broken, stolen, or completely lost. If you have yet to come by these ‘amazing’ accessories, ask a friend and I’m sure they will be more than happy to lend them to you!

Checklist Item #4: SHOES

Truth be told, most likely you will either be wearing sandals or nothing during spring break. Bring a pair or two of nice shoes for those days where you want to have a chill day and do something calm and refreshing. Look cute/handsome instead of a hot mess 24/7. Don’t stress out too much about it, though– spring break only allows a few of these peaceful days.

Checklist Item #5: TOTE BAG/BACKPACK

Make sure that you always have something to carry all of your necessities around!

You can use a check-list and always have these items in your bag: a towel, sunscreen, phone, snacks and ‘water.’ ;)  There are many cute and stylish options, but make sure that the quality is top notch! There is nothing worse than having your stuff stolen while you’re having a fun time. Keep all of your belongings together and closed nearby.

I hope you found this checklist helpful. Have a wonderful and safe spring break!
