Summer Course Design Made in Italy - IED Florence

During the course, you'll explore Florence as a city of design and fashion, emphasizing its reinvention, role in global design, and blending craftsmanship with innovation. You'll learn about industrial design, merging cultural factors with product and brand communication to develop innovation-based projects.

The course explores Italian craftsmanship's authenticity and history, emphasizing the synergy of traditional skills and modern technology that support the Italian design system. Participants will learn foundational design skills and understand the supply chain affecting product quality. Concepts are applied through modeling and design workshops, ending with a Final Project presentation. The summer course combines theory taught by industry professionals with cultural trips, workshops, and visits to handicraft stores, which enhance learning and provide ongoing field insights. It runs full-time Monday to Thursday for 75 hours over 3 weeks.

This course is for people interested in design with no prior experience who want to learn and face challenges. Skills like drawing can help, but aren't required. Applicants must show motivation and teamwork ability.
